Position Summary: The Director of Dual Credit Programs provides leadership for the development, coordination and management of Concordia University, Nebraska's Dual Credit program.  The Director is responsible for growing the Dual Credit Program, aligning it with the overall mission of the university, and maintaining its quality and integrity curriculum and instruction.  The Director serves as the primary program contact for Concordia administration, Concordia faculty liaisons and high school administrators and teachers; manages state reporting requirements; and oversees the collection and maintenance of all program data, including assessment data.

In the course of any on-site activities at dual credit high schools, the Director of Dual Credit Programs also engages administrators, staff and students on behalf of the admissions and alumni offices to foster alumni engagement, establish partnerships, and consult with prospective students.  The director may also support Concordia student teachers and recent alumni who are serving in partner high schools.


  • Master's degree required.
  • Prior teaching and/or administrative experience in a high school setting required.
  • Must hold, or have held, a teaching certificate or license.
  • Working knowledge of public and private/Lutheran school operations, policies and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Capacity to learn and apply university and accreditation policies and procedures.
  • Aptitude for building professional relationships that lead to enrollment of qualified students for Concordia programs at graduate, undergraduate and dual credit high school level.
  • Must understand customer service principles and generational service needs.
  • Must have ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Drivers' license required; must be capable of driving in urban and rural areas.
  • Must tolerate travel, by plane and car.
  • Must capably use technology to conduct work while not in the office.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of records and information.
  • Rostered LCMS church worker preferred.

General Duties:

  • Serves on Enrollment Team with other directors to develop and execute enrollment plans; develop and execute an annual plan for growth and improvement of the Dual Credit program.
  • Actively seeks out and develops dual credit relationships with Lutheran, Christian and public high schools within the area and within the LCMS, serving as primary contact for dual credit questions and issues.  Coordinate sand conducts annual dual credit visits to each school.
  • Engages administrators, faculty, coaches, counselors and students at dual credit high schools to establish partnerships, thank and engage alumni, gather referrals and visit with prospective students.
  • With marketing office, creates and maintains print and online dual credit information, including: registration forms, orientation videos for teachers and students, policy and practice handbook.
  • Consults and advises regarding teacher credentials and course information.
  • Works closely with Concordia faculty liaisons, department chairs, deans, Higher Learning Commission coordinator, the registrar's office and high school counselors and/or other administrators to ensure establishment and consistent application of essential procedures, policies and requirements regarding the Dual Credit Program.
  • Coordinates the admissions process and registration of all dual credit students.
  • Oversees collection and maintenance of accurate credentials for all teachers.
  • Manages administrative assistant duties to assist Dual Credit Program most effectively.
  • Verifies accuracy of rosters with high school counselors and dual credit instructors.
  • Reports grades (as needed) to area high schools.
  • Manages specialized related programs such as SAMS and graduate tuition waiver.
  • Manages state reporting requirements (e.g. Illinois, Wisconsin, etc.).
  • Plans and coordinates sponsored events for professional development, including: Heartland Summit (fall, even-numbered years); teachers' meeting on campus (spring, even- numbered years).
  • Represents the Dual Credit Program and Concordia alumni/admissions at conferences and meetings; serve as primary liaison for Association of Lutheran Secondary Schools.
  • Prepares and monitors a budget that supports the needs of the Dual Credit Program.
  • Maintains and manages various files, records, reports and program data.
  • Works with Assessment Committee.
  • Conducts survey of recent graduates regarding credit acceptance; maintain Survey Monkey page.
  • Supports CUNE student teachers and recent alumni who are serving at dual credit or Lutheran high schools.
  • Other duties as assigned.
